NEW BOSTON'S 4TH OF JULY CELEBRATION IS SATURDAY

Full-day of affordable, family-friendly entertainment and activities scheduled for town’s 78th Annual Celebration

New Boston, NH, June 30, 2009 —The New Boston 4th of July Association announces that its 78th Annual 4th of July Celebration is set to get underway on Saturday morning, July 4, 2009. The festivities kick-off with New Boston’s award-winning parade, featuring marching bands, dignitaries, clowns, antique cars and fire equipment, and New Boston’s famed “street floats.”

The New Boston 4th of July parade was recently selected as “Best Patriotic Small Town Event” by the editors of New Hampshire Magazine for the 2009 Best of New Hampshire Awards.

The festivities continue on the grounds of the Hillsborough County 4-H Youth Center on Route 13, and feature the annual firing of the town’s historic Molly Stark Cannon, the Revolutionary War-era brass cannon under the care of the New Boston Artillery Company, and a full-schedule (below) of exciting, family-friendly events, entertainment and activities throughout the day.

The event culminates with a bonfire and magnificent fireworks display at dark. In addition to New Boston’s famous chicken barbecue, food vendors are onsite for the entire event offering great 4th of July fare such as burgers, dogs, sausage, fried dough, cotton candy, fresh lemonade and homemade ice cream.

Tickets: $5.00 per person; under 12 admitted free – available at the gate. Ticket price includes onsite parking and parking lot shuttle service, and admittance to most of the day’s events and activities. Accessible parking and portable restrooms available.
