The Capital Improvements Program is like a budget, mapping the life safety, infrastructure and community service needs for all town departments and the school on a six-year schedule.
Appropriate replacement rotations for vehicles and equipment are maintained, while other necessary projects are slotted in an effort to maintain a steady bottom line, one that does not grow faster than the town’s increasing valuation (denoting our ability to pay).
The goal is to be able to afford both the needed and desired projects without causing a spike in the tax rate.
